Super Typhoon Haiyan, alarmism vs realism

Is this storm bad?  Yes.
Is this storm a disaster for the Philippines?  Absolutely.
Is this storm the strongest of the season and one of the strongest of the satellite era?  Very likely.
Is this storm going be similar to Katrina with respect to the symbolism of the effects of Global Warming?  Definitely.

Some articles, oldest to newest.
